Text & typography
Text on the canvas is real type, not a picture of type. It stays sharp at any zoom and exports as vector where the format allows.
Adding text
Press T and click where you want it, then type. Click away to finish. Double-click any existing text to edit it again.
The text toolbar
Select a text object and the typographic controls appear above it.

Colour and opacity sit at the left, then the typeface, weight and size, then alignment, then the finer controls.
Font — search the entire Google Fonts library from inside Clip, alongside the built-in faces. Type a few letters of a name to filter. If your brand kit carries uploaded typefaces, they appear in their own group at the top.
Weight and style — regular, bold, italic, and bold italic, for faces that provide them.
Size — quick presets, or type an exact value.
Alignment — left, centre, right.
Case — one-click Title Case, UPPERCASE and lowercase, so you don't have to retype a headline to try it a different way.
Line height and letter spacing — for setting a headline properly rather than accepting the default.
Colour and transparency — pick a colour and set its opacity.
Rich text inside a block
Within a single text object you can apply bold, underline and strikethrough to a selection, and build bulleted or numbered lists. That makes text blocks usable for real copy — a caption stack, a feature list, a set of instructions — not just headlines.
Text and the AI
Two things worth knowing:
- Canvas text is yours. The AI does not rewrite it unless you ask.
- Text inside a generated image is a different thing — it's pixels. Clip can still rewrite it, using Edit text on the image toolbar, which finds the words in the picture and replaces them. See Reshaping images.
If you want written copy rather than a headline, the content writer drafts it as an editable document on the canvas.
Brand typefaces
A brand kit assigns typefaces to roles — headline, body, and so on — so everyone working in the brand reaches for the same fonts. You can upload your own licensed faces too. See Brand kits.
