Credits & billing

What costs credits

Only generation. Running an AI engine to make something new costs credits; everything else is free.

Free, always, on every plan: the whole editor. Moving, resizing, cropping, rotating, colour-correcting, aligning, frames, auto layout, layers, text, grouping, locking, search, undo, version history, and exporting.

Costs credits: generating an image, video, 3D model or audio; AI edits like Edit Now, Upscale, Remove BG, Eraser, Expand, Multi-angle, Move object, Edit text, Create Layers and Vectorize; finalising a content document; rendering a video.

The exact price is on the button before you press it, next to a ⚡ icon. It is the figure you'll be charged, not an estimate, and it updates as you change options.

Your balance sits in the corner of every screen.

The credit balance

Three kinds of credit

Daily credits refresh every morning. Every plan has them, including the free one. Use them or lose them — they're a standing allowance, not a balance.

Monthly credits come with your plan and refresh with your billing cycle.

Top-up credits are bought separately and never expire. They sit behind your plan credits and are only drawn on once the others run out — so buying a top-up in a busy month doesn't mean losing it in a quiet one.

The plans

The four individual plans

Plan Price Credits Notable
Free $0 forever 15 daily Whole editor, image generation, 2 at once
Starter $19/mo 1,000 + 20 daily All four media types, 29 engines, PSD/PDF, 3 brand kits, 4 at once
Premium $49/mo 3,800 + 30 daily Content writer, brand-kit copilot, SVG, 10 brand kits, 8 at once
Pro $120/mo 9,500 + 50 daily Lowest cost per credit, unlimited brand kits, 12 at once
Team Premium $99/mo pooled Shared seats, roles, shared kits and workspaces
Team Pro $249/mo pooled Twenty seats, twenty thousand pooled credits, unlimited kits

To make the numbers concrete, Premium's 3,800 credits is roughly 3,800 quick images, or 271 on the highest-quality image engine, or 95 videos.

Four promises hold across every paid plan: the price is on the button, it renews at the same price you signed up at, top-ups never expire, and everyday editing is free.

Changing plan

Upgrade or downgrade whenever you like, from the pricing page or from any upgrade prompt. Clip confirms what changes before it does anything.

An upgrade prompt

When a feature needs a higher plan, Clip shows it locked rather than hiding it, so you always know what exists and what it would take to reach it.

Billing is monthly or yearly, with yearly costing ten months for twelve. Cancel any time, no cancellation fee, 30-day refund window. Prices in USD, excluding GST.

Topping up

Buy a credit pack from settings at any time. Top-ups never expire.

Promo codes are redeemed in settings too.

Watching your spending

Settings → Billing holds your full history — every credit, what it went on, filterable by week or month — plus your payment details and downloadable invoices. Billing is admin-only on team plans.

Clip warns you when credits run low rather than letting a generation fail unexpectedly.

Refunds

A queued generation — one waiting for a free slot — can be cancelled and is fully refunded. Once it's running, it isn't cancellable. Cancelled video renders are refunded too. If a generation fails on Clip's side, you aren't charged for it.
